Mount Ceva is the main height of the hill group that crowns the path called Ferro di Cavallo, which separates the plain of Battaglia Terme from the municipality of Montegrotto Terme. Its southern slope, in particular, is characterized by very interesting geological aspects, with the presence of highly exposed lava rocks (latite) facing south. This habitat is designated by the Natura 2000 Network as Calcareous or basophilic rock grassland formations of the Alysso-Sedion albi, and it is among the richest in species in the Hills. Among the hundreds (about 1,200 considering the entire group overlooking Ferro di Cavallo) of plant species present here, the unusual coexistence of the dwarf prickly pear (Opuntia humifusa), a warm-loving species, with the spiderweb houseleek (Sempervivum arachnoideum), a glacial relic, stands out.
