If you take Via dei Cappuccini, alongside the town wall, you will find yourself in a little cobbled street where it feels like you’ve stepped back in time, in front of the Falconetto arch. From here there is a beautiful view of the wall and the towers.
And there is more, this magical hidden-away place is also home to Villa Kunkler, where the poet Shelley composed some of his most important works. This town has further poetic links thanks to the Villa and the plaque which commemorates the verses of Byron and Shelley.
You can even rest on a stone bench shaped like a book, carved by a local artist.
Continuing along the path next to Villa Kunkler, we reach Villa del Principe where we can continue our walk by following the path with the same name. If you want, you can book a guided tour either with local guides or through the Francesco Petrarca Literary Park.
During your holiday in Abano and Montegrotto Terme, remember to take a stroll beyond the wall in Este to find some hidden treasures!
