Sport climbing in Veneto: Rocca Pendice
In Castelnuovo di Teolo, near Padua, on Monte Pendice (304 m), there is an imposing rockface known as Rocca Pendice which can be reached on foot from the sports ground in Teolo. It is possible to climb this wall at any time of the year, with the exception of the peregrine falcon nesting period.
A climbing wall for more than 100 years
For locals and visitors, Rocca Pendice is an historic climbing wall which has been used since the dawn of free climbing in Veneto.
It is made up of several sections of trachyte, an igneous rock of volcanic origin, porous and compact.
Climbing at Rocca Pendice is fun and enjoyable thanks to this unusual rock, which makes it a favourite destination for beginners and for more experienced climbers who want to try some of the routes in the beautiful countryside of the Euganean Hills.
